Telecommunications is providing digital connectivity services for participants
at the 14th Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization, currently
taking place in Cameroon’s capital.
At
the Yaoundé Convention Centre, the national telecommunications operator has
deployed a dedicated infrastructure, including a secure and high-capacity WiFi
network to support seamless communication throughout the event.

As
part of its service offering, Camtel introduced a tailored package known as the
“WTO blue fleet” for foreign delegations. The package includes unlimited calls
and text messaging within the network, communication credit valued at 50,000
CFA francs, and 10 gigabytes of data per line.
Camtel
teams are expected to remain on-site until March 29, 2026, providing technical
support and ensuring uninterrupted connectivity for participants.

Officials
say the initiative underscores Camtel’s capacity to support major international
events and reinforces Cameroon’s positioning as an emerging hub in the global
digital economy.
