The
Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NIGCOMSAT) has participated in
SATShow 2026 in Washington, D.C., highlighting opportunities within Africa’s
growing satellite and space sector.
The
delegation was led by Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Jane
Egerton-Idehen, who joined global industry leaders and stakeholders from across
the satellite, defence, and government sectors at the event held from March 23
to 26.

SATShow
2026 brought together participants from more than 110 countries, providing a
platform for discussions on market trends, emerging technologies, and strategic
partnerships within the global space ecosystem.
During
the event, Egerton-Idehen participated in a panel session titled “Unlocking
Commercial Value in Africa’s Emerging Markets,” where she highlighted the
continent’s vast growth potential and investment opportunities in satellite
communications.
She
emphasised the importance of leveraging Africa’s expanding digital economy and
increasing demand for connectivity to drive innovation and commercial growth
within the satellite industry.

NIGCOMSAT’s
participation reflects ongoing efforts to position Nigeria and the broader
African market as key players in the global space and satellite communications
landscape.
