The
Bank of Ghana has officially launched the 3i Africa Summit 2026, with a call
for stronger integration across the continent’s financial technology ecosystem.
The
launch, held at Bank Square, was led by Governor Johnson Pandit Asiama, who
delivered the keynote address under the theme “Shaping Africa’s Integrated
FinTech Future.”
In
his remarks, the Governor highlighted a shift in Africa’s development
narrative, noting that the continent is moving beyond untapped potential toward
a state of readiness for innovation and growth.

He
emphasized that the next phase of fintech development must be driven by
integration rather than fragmentation, underscoring the need for coordinated
systems and policies across markets.
Dr.
Asiama reaffirmed the central bank’s commitment to fostering innovation within
a robust regulatory framework, while ensuring financial stability and consumer
protection.
He
also called for sustained collaboration among stakeholders to drive the growth
of Africa’s fintech sector before formally declaring the summit open.
